REMAL FASADE facade paint is a modern acrylic facade paint. It is washable, breathable, excellent covering and weather resistant. It is used for coating lime-cement plaster, masonry, concrete panels, lightweight panels, bircholite, chipboard, etc.
Preparation of the substrate of the facade paint:
The substrate must be dry and aged to avoid colour change, saponification of the binder, reduced paint adhesion and lime efflorescence on the paint surface. The substrate must be free from biological attack such as mould and algae. New plasters must be allowed to cure (carbonate) for a minimum of 4 weeks. In the case of local repairs where it is not possible to wait 4 weeks for the plaster to mature, the new plaster can be treated with REMAL TELSAL V 2026 neutralising salt and then primed after drying. Excessively absorbent, dusty or incoherent substrates must not be penetrated (strengthened) with a suitable primer beforehand.
Recommended coating procedure:
After the primer has dried, follow with 2 coats of paint diluted with a small amount of clean water. The time interval between each coat is 4 - 6 hours. The first coat of paint on the facade is recommended to be applied with a brush, the second with a brush or roller. The ambient and substrate temperature must not fall below 8 °C during application.
